I Press Toward the Mark

VERSE 1

Not as though I had already attained,

Either were already perfect:

But I follow after, if that I may apprehend

That for which also I was apprehended

VERSE 2

Brethren, I count not myself

To have apprehended:

But this one thing I do,

But I follow after, if that I may apprehend

That for which also I was apprehended

CHORUS

I press toward the mark

The mark I need for a prize

I press to get my prize

A prize means victory

A prize means

Mission accomplished

VERSE 3

Forgetting those things which are behind,

And reaching forth unto those things which are before,

But I follow after, if that I may apprehend

That for which also I was apprehended

INTERLUDE

CHORUS

I press toward the mark

The mark I need for a prize

I press to get my prize

A prize means victory

A prize means

Mission accomplished

Not as though I had already attained,

Either were already perfect:

But I follow after, if that I may apprehend

That for which also I was apprehended
