The Isles Shall Wait for Thee

THE ISLES SHALL WAIT FOR THEE 240

VERSE 1

Surely the isles shall wait for me,

to bring thy sons from far,

their silver and their gold with them,

Unto the name of the Lord thy God,

And to the Holy One of Israel

Because he hath glorified thee

And the sons of strangers

Shall build up thy walls

CHORUS

The Isles, they shall wait for thee

Ooh the islands, they are waiting

They are waiting for the gospel

They are waiting to know Jesus

VERSE 2

When you go to the islands

To preach the gospel

Their kings shall minister unto thee

For in my wrath I smote thee,

But in my favour

Have I had mercy on thee

Therefore thy gates shall be continually open

They shall not be shut day nor night

CHORUS

The Isles, they shall wait for thee

Ooh the Islands, they are waiting

They are waiting for the gospel

They are waiting to know Jesus

VERSE 3

When you go to the islands

To preach the gospel

Men shall bring unto thee

The forces of the Gentiles,

For the nation and kingdom

That will not serve thee shall perish

Yea, those nations

Shall be wasted.

CHORUS

The Isles, they shall wait for thee

Ooh the island of s, they are waiting

They are waiting for the gospel

They are waiting to know Jesus

CHANT

Can’t you go just a little bit further

Can’t you do a little more
