Do Not Stir Up

INTRO

I am my beloved’s. My beloved is mine

He’s drawing me after him, His love is stronger than wine

Because of thine ointments, the virgins love thee

She’s stirring me up daughter of Jerusalem

Do not stir up, Do not stir up, Do not stir up

My love, my love, my love

How beautiful you are, my darling, thou art fair

Your eyes are like doves. Your lips are like lilies

Your hair is like a flock of goats. Your teeth like a flock of sheep

She’s stirring me up daughter of Jerusalem

Do not stir up, Do not stir up, Do not stir up

My love, my love, my love

Do not stir up, Do not stir up, Do not stir up

INTERLUDE

VERSE 3

Your neck is like the tower. Your two breasts are like twins

Thy cheek as a bed of spices, sweet as a flower

Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee

She’s stirring me up daughter of Jerusalem

INTERLUDE

Do not stir up, Do not stir up, Do not stir up

My love, my love, my love

INTERLUDE

Turn your eyes away from me for they have overcome me

You are beautiful my love, how pleasant you are

Your arm embraces me, your voice overcomes me

She’s stirring me up daughter of Jerusalem

Do not stir up, Do not stir up, Do not stir up

INTERLUDE

Do not stir up, Do not stir up, Do not stir up

INTERLUDE

I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem

Do not stir up my love until he please

There’s a time for love this is not the time

When it pleases him you and I we will share our love

Do not stir up, Do not stir up, Do not stir up
